Frequently Asked Questions
The ideal budget for an engagement ring varies for each individual, but a common guideline suggests spending two to three months' salary. We’ll ensure we help you find the right ring at the right budget for you.
If you can, we recommend discreetly “borrowing” one of your partner's rings and have it sized by us in our store. Alternatively, you can trace the inner circle of the ring onto a piece of paper or use an online ring size guide (although these methods can sometimes lead to incorrect sizing).
The most common options for engagement ring bands are platinum, white gold, yellow gold, and rose gold. Consider your partner's style preference and skin tone when selecting the metal. We’ve got all types available in our store so you can make the right call!
Enjoy affordable payments with our financing options, including a special offer of 12 months with no interest if the balance is paid in full. Make your dream ring more accessible and manageable within your budget. Give us a call or stop by our store to apply or get more details.
Absolutely! Our jewelers handcraft rings for our amazing clients almost every day of the week. If you’ve got an existing idea or inspiration, we can turn it into a reality. For more information on our custom jewelry services, click here.
Popular diamond shapes include round brilliant, princess, cushion, emerald, and oval. The right choice depends on personal style and preference - we’ll show you some amazing options for stones in-person at our Old Town Scottsdale store!
The 4Cs refer to carat weight, cut quality, color grade, and clarity grade. Understanding these factors helps determine a diamond's quality and value. Learn more about the 4 Cs here.
Yes! We’ve got great alternatives to diamonds, such as gemstones like sapphires, emeralds, or rubies. These gemstones offer unique colors and personalization options for an engagement ring.
Natural diamonds are mined from the earth, while lab-grown diamonds are created in a laboratory. Both have identical physical and chemical properties, but lab-grown diamonds are oftentimes more affordable. Click here for more details.
A diamond certification or grading report provides an independent evaluation of the diamond's quality, including the 4Cs along with other unique identifying characteristics of each stone. At The Estate Watch and Jewelry Co., we offer stones from GIA and EGL, as well as independently-graded stones. Each purchase includes the laboratory certificate, providing you with confidence and transparency in the quality and value of the diamond.
Our master jewelers recommend cleaning your engagement ring using a mild solution of warm water and mild dish soap and soaking the ring for a few minutes. Then use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub away any dirt or debris and rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
When you’re in the Old Town Scottsdale area, stop by to get it inspected and cleaned free of charge. We’ll check for loose stones, worn prongs, or any other issues that may need attention and get it looking sparkly again!
